To recap, the President and Vice President were having a meeting in the White House library. At one point in their conversation President Rudo became distracted by a spot he saw on the carpet. In retrospect the President's remark about "trickle down economics", which upset the Vice President so, may have been better left unsaid.

Upon further questioning the Vice President denied having any knowledge of where the spot came from, and thought that would be the end of the matter.
